People who generously give their time, effort and skills to our mission make a difference in the lives of hundreds of families every week. Together we put food in their cupboards and on their tables.
We are unable to welcome new volunteers at this time because we are transitioning to a new volunteer scheduling system.
Please check this page in late February for an update. We are sorry for this inconvenience. In the meantime, please email if you have questions about volunteering with us.
ABOUT VOLUNTEERING WITH CENTRE STREET
We hope that you are able to join us for at least one shift, once a month, for a minimum of three months. Most jobs include packing/lifting/moving bags or boxes that weigh 15 pounds (or more) and walking.
Students age 17 or older may volunteer without an adult. Younger teens or children must be accompanied by an adult.
There are a variety of jobs availabe at our pantry outdoors or in COVID-safe indoor locations:
Outdoor Set up
Packing Produce Bags
Packing Cold Orders
Packing Grocery and Kids Club Bags (flexible schedules including weekends)
Giving Groceries to Shoppers
Translation Services (Haitian Creole, Portugese, Mandarin, Spanish, Russian)
Flattening Boxes and Tidying Up
Pantry shifts are typically two hours: Every TUESDAY 10AM until 6PM | First SATURDAY of the Month 10AM until 3PM
We also need volunteers to unload our food deliveries: First, Fourth and Fifth THURSDAY, Noon-1:30PM | Third FRIDAY, 9:30AM-11:30AM
YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Guidelines for Volunteers
We ask that all CSFP volunteers demonstrate our core values of mutual respect and kindness. It helps if you can add a little patience and good humor, too!
Click the envelope to read our Guidelines so you are prepared to volunteer with us.
In the meantime, be assured that there will always be a staff and/or board member present during your volunteer shift to answer your questions and give you guidance.
