VOLUNTEER

People who generously give their time, effort and skills to our mission make a difference in the lives of hundreds of families every week.  Together we put food in their cupboards and on their tables.

ABOUT VOLUNTEERING AT CENTRE STREET

We hope that you are able to join us for at least one shift, once a month, for a minimum of three months.  Most jobs include packing/lifting/moving bags or boxes that weigh 15 pounds (or more) and walking.

Students age 17 or older may volunteer without an adult. Younger teens or children must be accompanied by an adult.

There are a variety of jobs available at our pantry. You can read more about the jobs here.

  • Outdoor Set up

  • Packing Produce Bags

  • Packing Cold Orders

  • Packing Grocery and Kids Club Bags (flexible schedules including weekends)

  • Translation Services (Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Mandarin, Spanish, Russian)

  • Flattening Boxes and Tidying Up

Pantry shifts are typically two hours and are usually on our service days of Tuesday between 10 AM and 6 PM and the third Saturday of the month between 10 AM and 3 PM.

We also need volunteers to unload our food deliveries on various Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Guidelines for Volunteers

We ask that all CSFP volunteers demonstrate our core values of mutual respect and kindness. It helps if you can add a little patience and good humor, too!

Click the envelope              to read our Guidelines so you are prepared to volunteer with us.

In the meantime, be assured that there will always be a staff and/or board member present during your volunteer shift to answer your questions and give you guidance.
