Join us at the Ride and Stride for Food!

Mark your calendar to reserve the morning of Sunday, September 27th so that you can join our team in this year’s Ride and Stride for Food! This truly fun event has become an important fundraiser for Centre Street and this year our goal is to raise $65,000!

You can choose to ride 25K, 50K or 62.2K or complete a 5K walk. Afterwards you can mingle with teammates and make new friends while listening to live music, enjoying lunch from one of the food trucks or relaxing with a neck massage!

We had 30 riders and walkers on our team last year and we hope that you will join us or find a member to support. Just click the button below!

The Newport Restaurant Group Bar ‘Cino locations in partnership with Papa Razzi in Wellesley sponsored our 15 Year Anniversary event on March 19th. This inaugural community event included volunteers, community partners and supporters who gained insights into the organization’s founding and growth with a peek into our plans for the future! Their combined support provided over $5,000 of donations, many of them for our new Kids Club birthday program.

Lasell University students hosted their annual Empty Bowls event on April 10th. This convivial evening included handmade bowls, food, music, a silent auction and keynote speakers Professor Harold Cox, Newton Mayor Marc Laredo, Lasell Chancellor Eric Turner and our Executive Director Rose Saia. The event raised over $6,000 for Centre Street and we are so grateful to the Empty Bowl students and all those who attended and donated to the evening!

Newton native Samantha Smith ran the Boston Marathon on April 19th (for the very first time!) and finished with enthusiasm because she raised over $10,000 for Centre Street. Sam appreciated the trust we all had in her that she’d finish strong (and felt ready to run it again next year!). We appreciate Sam and everyone who supported her.

The Walk for Hunger on May 3rd was comprised of volunteers led by 30 year veteran Karen Allschwang (and former Centre Street board member). Even though the weather was rainy and cool, our team’s spirit was shining with members who wore fruit costumes and sunglasses! They raised over $4,000, which will be given to Centre Street and Project Bread.

Thank you to everyone who joined and supported our Spring Events!
