SMS Campaign Privacy Policy

Centre Street Food Pantry ("Centre Street Food Pantry," "we," "us," or "our") operates an SMS ("text messaging") program to help clients schedule and manage food pantry appointments, and receive occasional program updates. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with that SMS program (the "Program").

This policy applies specifically to our SMS Program and supplements, but does not replace, any general privacy policy published elsewhere on our website.

1. Information We Collect

When you register for the Program or use our client portal at centrestfoodpantry.org, we may collect:

  • Your mobile phone number
  • Your name, date of birth, and household/family member information
  • Your mailing address

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected through the Program to:

  • Send appointment confirmations, reminders, and related scheduling messages
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide client support
  • Send occasional operational updates about Centre Street Food Pantry services (for example, pantry closures or schedule changes) to clients who have registered
  • Send one time passcodes to authenticate

We do not use your mobile information for marketing or promotional purposes unrelated to Centre Street Food Pantry services.

3. No Sharing of Mobile Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile number and related consent data are used solely to operate the Program described above.

We may share information with service providers (such as our SMS/text messaging platform provider) solely as necessary to deliver the Program, and with staff and volunteers of Centre Street Food Pantry who need the information to provide services to you.

4. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on your activity with Centre Street Food Pantry, such as verification codes when you log in, confirmations when you book or change an appointment, and occasional program updates. You should generally expect no more than a few messages per month outside of active appointment scheduling.

5. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging rates from your wireless carrier apply to any SMS messages you receive or send as part of the Program. Consult your mobile carrier's plan for details.

6. How to Opt Out

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages from Centre Street Food Pantry at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us, or by contacting us using the information below. After you opt out, we will send you a one-time confirmation message, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from the Program. Opting out of SMS messages does not affect your ability to receive food pantry services, which you may continue to access by phone or in person.

7. Data Security and Retention

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information collected through the Program. We retain phone numbers and related Program data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Program and to comply with our recordkeeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
