We appreciate when our community creates events to support us. We also love when we can come together with our community to participate and directly show our commitment.
Events that highlight our mission and help stock our pantry are a great way to fight against local food insecurity. Join us!

EMPTY BOWLs at Lasell College
New date TBD
Empty Bowls is an incredible community event led by the Ceramics Club at Lasell College. For six months students at Lasell spend all of their free time crafting beautiful handmade bowls. They invite us to their nightly crafting sessions too!
Participants choose a handmade ceramic bowl, fill it with delicious soup and sit down to enjoy it with bread and dessert at a convivial table of new found friends. There will be live music, too!
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Empty Bowls at Lasell has been postponed to a date to be determined in 2020. Please check back for details.

The Ride For food
October 4, 2020
Friends of the Centre Street Food Pantry are invited to participate on our cycling team for the 9th Annual Ride for Food on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Riders have their choice of a 10 mile, 25 mile, or 50 mile course. For more info visit our Team Page.
Three Squares New England organizes an annual charity bike ride, the Ride for Food to raise money for local food pantries, kitchens, community farms and food rescue organizations. This is an event that recognizes that hunger is widespread throughout our surrounding community and that community-based non-profits have limited resources to undertake large fundraisers on their own, and gives small organizations the chance to make a big fundraising push. Last year we raised over $22,000 for the Pantry! Thanks to all who rode and who donated to our riders.

Empty Bowls at Newton South
Each fall ceramics students and Newton South High School arts faculty have made over 200 bowls to sell and fill with soup! We are treated to a wonderful night of hot jazz, delicious soup, and of course fabulous hand-made bowls all for a great cause - the awareness of hunger in our community.
All proceeds from the evening go to benefit the Centre Street Food Pantry.
