HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM ELIGIBLE TO GET GROCERIES?

If you are experiencing any situation that has left you in need of food and live in one of our service communities, you may register to receive food from our pantry.

如果您生活在我们服务社区之一,在生活中遇到任何困难和意外情况使您需要食物,即可注册以从我们的食品储藏室接收食物。

There are no Income Eligibility Guidelines at this time.

Even if your situation is temporary, such as job loss or lack of an income from another household member, or an illness that has interfered with your ability to get food, you can register at our pantry.

Our food pantry is not a federal or state benefit and does not disqualify you from receiving assistance from these agencies and/or programs.

​What forms do I need?

1) Please fill out this Pantry Application. 

请填写此食品储藏室申请表  Pantry Application. 

Please bring  it with you on your first visit, or fill out this online form. If you do not have it with you on your first visit, you will still be able to receive groceries as long as you have a photo ID that verifies your address.

A referral signature that confirms your proof of need is not needed at this time.

2) Please bring a document or identification that includes your name and current address.

We need to confirm that you live in one of the communities we serve.  The document you bring could be a car registration, rent receipt, tax or credit card bill, heath insurance bill, a utility, cellphone or cable bill or any notice sent to you from a social services agency. A photo ID is not required to register as a client with our pantry but you can show us your driver's license  or any other identification that includes your name and the city /town that you live in.

If you do not have this paperwork or an identification, we will write down your address and mail you an envelope. Please bring this envelope with you on our next visit to Centre Street Food Pantry.

3) We will need to know the number of people in your family as well as their ages.

We keep all information confidential. Our database is one designed for Greater Boston Food Bank agencies so that we can track and manage the size of the community we serve. We do not provide any information to law enforcement, federal, state or immigration agencies.

HOW OFTEN CAN I GET GROCERIES?

Once you have registered, you may visit once a month.

​We are located at 11 Homer Street in Newton Centre at the side door annex of the Trinity Parish Church. Our entrance is around the corner on Furber Lane. Our sign is next to the double door.

The Centre Street Food Pantry is open:

  • ​Every Tuesday from 2:30 PM to 6 PM 

  • The First Saturday of the month 11:30AM until 2 PM.

WHAT IF I NEED FOOD WHEN YOU ARE CLOSED?

If you need food when we are not open or any other services, please dial '211' or go the Massachusetts State Hotline which is available 24/7, with translation services for many languages.

We don't have staff to regularly answer the phone but you can leave a voicemail at 617.340.9554 or email at info@centrestfoodpantry.org. We will try to respond within the week.
